Tracy Carmen-Jones, Founder and President, WaterLight Group, a Leadership Development and Management Consulting firm and Founder and Partner, ChoicePoints Learning, a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion company committed to creating Beloved Community.

Leveraging an experiential approach, Tracy guides leaders and classroom participants to try on new behaviors and customize moves that dramatically improve their effectiveness in being better, together.  

Tracy is intentional in designing workshops that make an imprint on mindsets and behaviors that create sticking power with leaders. She has developed training workshops that include emotional intelligence, self-discovery, navigating challenging situations, conflict management, powerful questions and executive presence. She is a Qualified Administrator of the Birkman assessment and The Empowerment Dynamic (TED).  

With leadership coaching credentials at the PCC level, Tracy provides individual and team-based coaching, combining leadership coaching modalities and business acumen to spark self reflection, insight and movement towards committed goals. Genuine, kinetic and thoughtful, Tracy actively engages clients and helps them refine their intentions and behaviors to stretch into their greatest capacities. 

Tracy has in-depth experience working with seasoned executives to hone their awareness of the cultural dynamics of the work environment and how to refine their behaviors and actions to amp impact and influence. She also has been engaged to coach leaders in transition, working alongside them to understand inflection points as they occur and how to navigate the new role, organization structure and work relationships. Tracy has coached extensively with multicultural leaders, including leaders from Latin America. 

As a management consultant, Tracy has experience in Organizational Change Management (OCM), project management, process improvement, organization redesign and operations management.  

Using proprietary frameworks, Tracy leverages Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) best practices and tools including DEI audits, stakeholder interviews, DEI strategic visioning and planning, Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) assessments, and race history. This work is instrumental in helping leaders anchor on end result outcomes and to notice their role in work dynamics that create race equity and access.  

Tracy has worked with seasoned and high potential leaders across many corporations and non profits including JPMorgan Chase, Southern Company, TechnipFMC, NRG, CenterPoint Energy, Harris Health System, Georgetown University, United Way Worldwide, Housing Connect, Fort Bend Independent School District and Ulta Beauty.  

Tracy is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University in the Institute of Transformational  Leadership. Tracy received DEI Certification from the University of Central Florida. She is part of The Initiative- Advancing the Blue and Black Partnership between the community and the police.

Conducted narrative 360 interviews that revealed detailed, genuine feedback on how he is being experienced by the team and specific areas of improvement and impact. Worked with client to identify underlying thought habits and patterns.

  • Retail Electric Provider: Coached Senior Vice President, Operations on creating strong work relationships, improving team collaboration and learning how to modulate personal power without diminishment.  Worked with client to identify underlying thought habits and patterns that impacted behaviors and team dynamics.

  • National Youth Development NGO: Coached a Vice President, Operations to improve leadership credibility and build trust
    across functions and within his team. The challenge for the client was in developing a keener appreciation for vision setting
